A Mobile Application contest was launched under
the Reliance Developer Programme of
Reliance Communications in association with NASSCOM
between October 2003 and January 2004. The aim
was to provide a unique platform to the developer
community in India to innovate, ideate, showcase
and participate in developing path-breaking
and marketable applications. Entries were invited
under two categories: Mobile Applications and
Application ideas.
The contest closed on 31st January 2004 and
the response was overwhelming. Thousands of
valid entries for the application ideas were
received as well as an enthusiastic number of
fully working applications for the Application
contest. The jury comprising seasoned professionals
from NASSCOM, industry and academia evaluated
entries on set criteria stipulated for Mobile
Applications and Application Ideas and decided
the winners.
