The focus of the Mobile Application Contest 2007 - 08 will be on developing applications that cater to the rural customers. The applications could be in any of the following areas:

Transportation
M- Commerce
Information
Health
Education
Governance
Location Based Services

Applications can be developed for both CDMA and GSM technologies.

Eligibility: The contest is open to those who are registered with the RDP and includes:

Software Professionals
Self- employed Professionals
Students
Companies
Content vendors/ aggregators

Contest Registration and Entry Submission:
Interested developers and corporates can register through the online form uploaded on the website before the 25th of December.Contest entries can be e- mailed to RDP on rdp.contest@relianceada.com. Last date for sending contest entries is 31st March 2008.

Judging Criteria: The Contest applications will be judged by an expert panel of judges representing telecom industry, IT associations and academia and the applications submitted will be judged on the following criteria:

User Interface (25%)
Innovative/Uniqueness (20%)
Functionality (25%)
Business Potential (30%)

Prizes : Participate and win prizes upto Rs 13 lakhs!
